Memorial Day 2026

This Weekend, We Celebrated Memorial Day. As We Are In The Midst Of A War With Iran It Is So Timely, We Reflect On The Ultimate Sacrifices Our Brave Solders Over The Years Have Made. There Will Always Be Different Views When It Comes To Utilizing Our Military Strength. Even In World War II The United States Tried Their Best To Stay Out.
Just think if they had engaged early when asked by Churchill. Sitting, as that saying across the pond, we can never ultimately understand what our allies are going through. This is a fact unless you had been there. We are blessed not to have lived on the ground in this century through war other than the heinous attacks on Pearl Harbor which then made U.S. involvement in WWII unavoidable.
In reality, there will always be good and evil. There will always be evil men and regimes that want control. Many make a pitch that they will help the masses. Other to control through extreme religious beliefs. There will always be different types of governments. We are blessed to have democracy. Just like Israel is a democracy.
In the comforts of the U.S.A. some believe we should not be involved in any war or attacks on foreign soil. This philosophy is both naive and dangerous. Sitting back over the years depending on diplomacy has allowed evil men to continue their oppressive regimes. It is also not fully accurate to say all the past presidents have not taken any actions. They all have.
Our younger generation have not had to worry about a draft. They have not had to truly sacrifice to defend our American way of life. Even though many lives were lost in bombings and lest we forget 911. As we are beginning to celebrate our 250th Anniversary it is paramount we understand history and how fragile our freedom is. Just look at New York. Many Jews are not able to live in peace. Same with other cities.
These attacks are being fueled by ignorance and compounded by the economic struggles we are having. It should be noted that the economy was not great before October 7th. It is so easy to play the blame game rather than taking a good look at reality. Anger fed with misinformation are truly the seeds of why we are where we are.
It has become an upside-down situation. Protests against Jews. Call to support evil regimes by groups like the Code Pink squad that ironically would be killed in Iran for not only protesting but for not adhering to Sharia law. LBGTQ+ supporting the protest when they too would be killed.
I am so saddened by these realities. These positions are not American. They are actually an affront to every WWII and other veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice to defend democracy and our freedoms. Whether you are a democrat, republican independent or non-partisan we owe a debt to our armed forces. We all need to call out misinformation.
We are lucky to be able to share our opinions. We are fortunate to live in a democracy. We have these Freedoms because someone fought evil and gave the ultimate sacrifice.
