I Like Big Dogs and I Cannot Lie

March 17, 2022

Calling big dog lovers, Freddie (ID 651668) is 5 years old, 75 pounds and waiting to meet you at the Humane Society of Broward County. He looks like he might have some Chesapeake Bay retriever in him, with his beautiful, brown-tipped fur coat.

So… Freddie knows a few basic commands, especially if a tasty treat is involved. This fellow enjoys running around, but also likes his naps and might want to snuggle with you. While Freddie is not a fan of felines, if you have another dog at home, we recommend a meet and greet to see if they get along. Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, Freddie’s adoption fee is sponsored, and he gets to go home with goodies to help him settle in. Freddie has been waiting over a month and we think he is getting passed by because he is a big boy. Big dogs need loving homes too, don’t you think?

If big dogs aren't your thing than maybe pigs are? Or a Guinea Pig that is. Let me introduce you to Nutter Butter (ID 652968) he is a one-year-old male Guinea pig who is inquisitive, friendly, and social. While he has not lived with other pets, this fellow is good with kids ages six and up. Sadly, he lost his home because his family no longer had time for him. He will need fresh greens, Timothy likes hay and a high-quality Guinea pig food for his diet. He might also benefit from being brushed so he is always looking his best.

When you adopt from the Humane Society of Broward County all pets are spayed or neutered before going home. In addition, they receive preliminary vaccinations, a microchip, heart-worm test for dogs over seven months, feline leukemia test for cats, a limited 14-day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals, and a bag of Purina ONE pet food while supplies last. For more information call the shelter today at 954-989-3977 ext 6. The HSBC is located at 2070 Griffin Road, a block west of I-95 and opens daily at 11:00 a.m.
