Zumba is the park continues to be a popular event, so the City will continue to offer complimentary Zumba classes to Aventura residents of all ages. The Zumba program will include a certified Zumba instructor teaching this fun fitness class involving aerobic movement and Latin dance.

Zumba is one of the most fun and versatile fitness crazes to come along in a long time. Zumba's most well-known and popular program is its namesake class, Zumba. This dance class features high-and low-intensity intervals that help improve cardiovascular fitness while also enhancing balance, coordination, agility, and to some degree, strength through the application of beginner-accessible choreography.

Talk to your doctor before joining a class if you have been inactive, have any medical issues, or take any medicines, just to make sure Zumba is right for you. And talk to instructors before class about your fitness level and any health conditions you have so they can suggest modifications.

Participants should be ready to bring a positive mood, have fun and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. These FREE classes will be held on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Founders Park, 3105 Northeast 190th Street, Aventura, Florida 33180.

If Yoga is more your thing, the popular series of complimentary yoga classes at Founders Park is still happening for yogis of all skill levels to enjoy. Held outdoors in the City’s beautiful Founders Park, these classes offer the perfect atmosphere to relax, breathe and stretch together with the help of a certified instructor.

While there are more than 100 different types, or schools, of yoga, most sessions typically include breathing exercises, meditation and assuming postures that stretch and flex various muscle groups. Because there are so many different kinds of yoga practices, it is possible for anyone to start. Whether you’re a couch potato or a professional athlete, size and fitness levels do not matter because there are modifications for every yoga pose and beginner classes in every style.

The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, Arthritis, headaches and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Yoga can also lower Blood Pressure and reduce Insomnia. Aside from the physical benefits, one of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person manage stress, which is known to have devastating effects on the body and mind. Yoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person’s mental well-being.

The duration of the class is approximately one hour, classes start at 9:00 a.m. every Friday. Students must bring their own Yoga mats, a small towel and water for convenience. Please plan to be in class for approximately one hour.
