4th of July Fireworks Celebrations

All are welcome to celebrate our nation’s 245th birthday on Hollywood Beach at the annual Star-Spangled Spectacular 4th of July Celebration. Sponsored by the City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts and the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency-Beach District, this annual July 4th event will feature entertainment beginning at 5:00 p.m., a special recognition of a local NFL star at 6:30 p.m., and a dazzling offshore fireworks display beginning at 9:00 p.m.

KEY TO THE CITY & PROCLAMATION SPECIAL EVENT INFORMATION
All are invited to join Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy, City Commissioners and special guests in recognizing long-time Hollywood resident, and National Football League (NFL) player Marquise “Hollywood” Brown for his outstanding dedication and leadership. Hollywood Brown will accept an honorary Key to the City and Proclamation that Sunday, July 4, 2021 is officially “Marquise Hollywood Brown Day” in the City of Hollywood, Florida. This special presentation is taking place at 6:30 p.m. at the Hollywood Beach Theater, 200 Johnson Street and the Broadwalk.
TRAFFIC, SHUTTLE and PARKING INFORMATION
Due to anticipated heavy traffic, Hollywood Police may limit access to the beach and directing traffic. Please note, there is limited parking on the barrier island and spectators are encouraged to use the free shuttle buses which will depart from the City’s two downtown parking garage locations and take passengers to Johnson Street. Standard parking rates apply. The shuttle pick up locations are:
• Radius Garage: 251 N 19th Avenue
• Van Buren Garage: 251 S 20th Avenue
The free shuttles will run from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Please note, the last shuttles will leave from Downtown Hollywood for the beach at 8:00 p.m., with returning shuttles running from 9:30 p.m. at the conclusion of the fireworks display until 10:30 p.m. Masks are required to ride on all City-operated shuttles.
SUN SHUTTLE
The Sun Shuttle, operated by Circuit is an environmentally-friendly, electric public transportation option that transports riders through service areas from City Hall Circle to downtown Hollywood, Hollywood Beach and along Federal Highway. An App requested ride is $1.00 per fare. A flag down ride is free. Flag down riders can and hop on and off along the route the driver is already going for the paid App requested ride. The Sun Shuttle will be operating from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 4th. Download the free “Ride Circuit” App from the App Store or Google Play.
RIDE SHARE
Uber and Lyft drivers may drop-off and pick-up passengers at the designated ride share spot on Tyler Street between A1A and Surf Road, along the beach.
A1A – OCEAN DRIVE
From 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. the Hollywood Police Department will restrict vehicular traffic on A1A to northbound only from Hollywood Boulevard to Sheridan Street. Northbound traffic will exit on Sheridan Street and Dania Beach Boulevard. Broward County Transit will travel northbound only during this timeframe. From 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. A1A between Hollywood Boulevard and Sheridan Street will be closed to all incoming traffic.
HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD
From 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. no westbound traffic will be permitted to exit from A1A to Hollywood Boulevard and will be detoured north to Sheridan Street. From 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. all eastbound traffic on Hollywood Boulevard exiting to A1A will be directed southbound only.
SHERIDAN STREET
Beginning at 11:00 a.m. access to the barrier island at Sheridan Street will be closed. All eastbound traffic on Sheridan Street will be directed north or south onto 14th Avenue. No vehicles will be permitted east of 14th Avenue.
HALLANDALE BEACH BOULEVARD
From 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. all northbound traffic on A1A will be U-Turned at Jackson Street and directed south to Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
PARKING
The City has parking available at the Garfield Parking Garage, 300 Connecticut Street and A1A, and the Nebraska Street Garage, 327 Nebraska Street, for a SPECIAL EVENT FLAT RATE of $30. Standard parking rates only apply at City-operated parking garages in downtown Hollywood: Radius parking Garage, 250 N 19th Avenue and Van Buren Parking Garage at 251 S 20th Avenue.
Parking is also available at the following locations on Hollywood Beach: Hollywood Beach Garage at A1A and Hollywood Boulevard; North Beach Park at Sheridan Street and A1A (must enter before sundown),; Margar-itaville Hollywood Beach Resort at A1A and Johnson Street; Keating Park at 2400 S. Ocean Drive / 301 Magnolia Terrace; the Dunewalk / Summit Lot at 1200 S. Ocean Drive and the Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood at 3555 S. Ocean Drive. Special event rates may vary.
Intracoastal Waterway bridges will maintain their regular schedules throughout the day and early evening, but from 8:00 p.m. to midnight bridges at Dania Beach Boulevard, Sheridan Street and Hollywood Boulevard will remain in the down position to allow vehicular traffic to enter and exit the beach.
INFORMATION TO HELP MAKE IT A SAFE AND HAZARD-FREE HOLIDAY
Alcoholic beverages, fireworks of all types, sparklers, glass, single-use plastic and foam items, coolers larger than 36” long and barbecue grills are prohibited and could be confiscated. Picnicking is permitted on the sandy beach only between Sherman and Custer streets as well as within Charnow Park at Garfield Street, Keating Park at Magnolia Terrace, and Harry Berry Park at Azalea Terrace. Connecting canopies, or canopies larger than 10’ X 10’ are prohibited.
To help keep Hollywood Beach beautiful, visitors are reminded to bring reusable items and clean up after themselves at the end of the day. Visitors should note Hollywood does not allow single-use plastics and Styrofoam products at City facilities and properties. Please do not over-fill trash receptacles.
It is prime nesting season for several protected species of sea turtles. Turtle nesting activity is normal and should not be considered an emergency. If you plan to stake out a spot on the sand to watch the fireworks, please remember the nesting habits of sea turtles can be impacted by light sources, including flashlights. If you do encounter a sea turtle or sea turtle nest, do not disturb it. Knowingly interfering with a sea turtle nest could result in civil or even criminal penalties and fines.
All boaters are advised to travel at safe speeds and to watch for threatened or endangered species including manatees and sea turtles. Any collisions with or injuries to sea turtles, manatees or other protected species must be reported to Sea Turtle Emergency Line (24 hours) at 954.328.0580 and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at 1.888.404.FWCC. Spectator boats are not allowed to anchor on or above sea grass, hard bottom or coral reef structures and could face fines or criminal penalties for doing so. This is a condition of the event permit from the U.S. Coast Guard. Boaters also must remain at least 1,400 feet from the fireworks barge. The Hollywood Police Department Marine Unit will be on hand to assure boaters follow these regulations.
Public restrooms are located at the Nebraska Street Parking Garage and at Tyler, Fillmore, Johnson, Garfield, Taft, and Missouri Streets on the Broad-walk for your convenience.

North Miami Cancels 4th of July Celebration at MOCA Plaza
The City of North Miami has canceled the 4th of July Celebration out of respect for the families, victims, and residents affected by the Surfside tragedy. The event was scheduled for Sunday, July 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the MOCA Plaza (located at 770 NE 125 Street, North Miami, FL 33161).
“We want to honor and respect those residents who have been impacted by this devastating tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families” stated City Manager Theresa Therilus, Esq.

City of Aventura
Aventura proudly commemorates Independence Day with its annual fireworks celebration on Sunday, July 4th, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. along Country Club Drives.
The spectacular aerial display will illuminate the skies above the City of Excellence, spectators can view the fireworks from any location along Country Club Drives. Join us for a patriotic and memorable evening!

City of Pembroke Pines
The City of Pembroke Pines will host an Independence Day Family Picnic and Fireworks Show Event. The event will be held at Pines Recreation Center located at 7400 Pines Boulevard. The picnic grounds will be opened at 7:00 p.m. with a Fireworks Show at 9:00 p.m.
The event will be open to Pembroke Pines Residents ONLY and tickets will be required to enter the picnic area. Tickets will need to be picked up in person prior to the event, there will not be any on-line or e-mailed registrations. Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Please note, you must bring a current driver’s license (which lists the Pembroke Pines home address) and one proof of residency. Proof of residency can be in the form of a current City of Pembroke Pines water bill, FPL bill or an Auto Insurance bill. There will be no exceptions. Tickets are free to the event and can be picked up from June 14th - July 1st, 2021. Please note, there is a limited capacity.
