It's a Jurassic June at MODS

This summer, dinosaurs take over MODS in a thrilling, immersive way. Uncover the mysteries of Earth’s greatest transformation on an epic journey through the final days of the dinosaurs during Expedition: Dinosaur - Rise of the Mammals! This captivating traveling exhibit takes you through the moments before, during and after the extinction event that ended the age of the dinosaurs. Guests will marvel at life-size animatronic dinosaurs and mammals, complete with realistic movements and sounds, and delve into fascinating educational and interactive hands-on activities including cutting-edge paleontology experiences as they journey through extinction, evolution and resilience. Developed by Stage Nine Exhibits and locally sponsored by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the exhibit runs through Monday, September 1st, 2025. MODS’ don’t miss dinosaur-themed IMAX® films include T. Rex, Dinosaurs of Antarctica and Dino Dana: The Movie. Later this summer, MODS and BASE Xperiential will debut a custom-built, freestanding HoloTheater - the first of its kind on the East Coast of the United States — offering an interactive learning experience that blends advanced holographic dinosaur projection, panoramic visuals and spatial audio to engage and inspire audiences of all ages. The exhibits and one film are included with Museum admission.

Roar and Explore Even More

Embark on a roaring adventure through the Museum of Discovery and Science’s Expedition: Dinosaur Rise of the Mammals, where science and fun collide! During Roar and Explore Weekends through August, kids can dig for fossils like a paleontologist, uncover the secrets of how dinosaurs evolved into the animals we know today and explore the incredible story of the extinction event that reshaped life on Earth. Get hands-on by making your own shark tooth necklace and investigate prehistoric ecosystems. Meet living dinosaur descendants in thrilling animal encounters, discover the tools and techniques scientists use to uncover ancient secrets and even step into the shoes of a paleontologist in the Dino Dig Pit. Little ones can hatch dinosaur eggs, create fossils and bring dino puppets to life in fun activities just for them. It’s a dino-mite journey full of discovery, science and excitement for all ages! Choose Play – Every Day

Join MODS on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 for an International Day of Play, a global celebration of the essential role play has in the lives of children, families and communities. Dive into creativity, imagination and innovation with hands-on STEM activities designed to inspire playful learning and meaningful connection for guests of all ages! MODS is proud to feature LEGO®’s Build the Change: Playful Cities, the official 2025 International Day of Play theme. Young builders will use their imaginations - and brand-new LEGO® sets - to design dream cities that are sustainable and fun. Create parks, bridges, buildings and more in this dynamic challenge where creativity meets urban design. Explore the power of magnetism, structural design and Meaningful Play with a variety of classic MAGNA-TILES® sets. From architectural challenges to colorful, freeform builds, guests will engage in hands-on STEAM-based activities that encourage creativity, collaboration and innovation. Take a Walk on the Turtle Side

This summer, witness a breathtaking natural phenomenon on Florida’s coastline with MODS’ Sea Turtle Walks, in partnership with Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club, happening select evenings in June and July. Participants will learn about Sea Turtle Conservation and then venture to Fort Lauderdale Beach for a chance to observe loggerhead sea turtles in their natural nesting habitat. Sea Turtle Walks begin with an educational presentation at 9:00 p.m., followed by a beach excursion led by the Museum’s experienced naturalists. These events support Sea Turtle conservation efforts and provide a unique, awe-inspiring experience for guests ages 9 and up. Reservations are required and spaces fill quickly! FREE Days for Families

You belong here for an inclusive day of colorful exploration during MODS’ seventh annual Family PRIDE Day Celebration on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is FREE at this all-ages special event during PRIDE Month sponsored by AARP, Bank of America, The Our Fund Foundation, OutClique Magazine, UKG, and Xpress Entertainment (in-kind). Explore the science of rainbows with colorful activities and a lively parade through our exhibits! Enjoy hands-on experiments, create instantly drying tie-dyed T-shirts, bring your own or buy one for $5 and experience the dazzling PRIDE KaBOOM! show.
