Grand Klezmer Concert: Tuesday, May 9th at 1:30pm

Zevy Steiger and Aryeh Leib Hurwitz, Two World Renowned Cantors and the Heavy Shtetl Klezmer Band will delight South Florida with authentic Klezmer, Yiddish and other great Jewish music! These two Cantors will rock the house with their magnificent voices!
United Jewish Generations, a Chabad organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for the Jewish Senior Citizen Population, is proud to present this amazing concert which is truly going above and beyond.

The performance will take place at the Hallandale Cultural Community Center (the building behind the Broward County Library on US1.) 410 Southeast 3rd Street, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009. The date is May 9th, at 1:30pm. This is a special Jewish holiday called “Lag Baomer” and customary to present cultural Jewish music and festivities.

The Heavy Shtetl Band of expert Klezmerists is the brainchild of Alexander Mikhaylovsky, a Violinist from Odessa, Ukraine. At the age of 4, he started to learn violin with his first violin professor, Bella Barsky. He graduated music school with the Golden Medal and went to the Odessa Music College to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Music, then attended the University of Music and Pedagogy in Russia, where he achieved a Master's Degree in Music in 1990. Since then he has played with various groups including: The Miami Symphony Orchestra, Latin American Chamber Orchestra, Florida Grand Opera and The Miami Ballet.
